Allego Sales Enablement Software
Allego is a Sales Enablement suite that helps sellers close deals exponentially faster, by providing a seamless integration between sales content management, readiness & learning, conversation intelligence, and the ability to easily create and deliver highly personalized digital buying experiences that delight buyers.
As the leader of Allego's design team, I spearheaded the creation of a new design system and the modernization of primary user workflows aimed at streamlining content creation, management, and discovery processes. Additionally, I introduced new features that helped transform the product from its humble origins as a startup in sales learning and content management to being recognized as the premier Sales Enablement tool by industry analysts.
Key Problem
Many users with Allego licenses were not engaging with the software beyond their initial use. They found the user interface and navigation to be outdated and confusing, and struggled to see how the software could enhance their job performance.
As Principal Designer, I led the development of the component-based Lumin Design System from concept to implementation. Collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, executive stakeholders, customer success, clients, and marketing leaders, I defined requirements and identified opportunities to make the platform easier to use.
At a strategic level, I conducted numerous user interviews, performed competitive analysis, conducted internal audits of Allego's user interface, and proposed enhancements based on my findings. On a tactical level, I redefined Allego's information architecture, established the initial component library and baseline branding standards for the new design system, and created wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and UX prototypes to help clearly define end-to-end user experiences. These efforts allowed for cost-effective validation of the new designs, workflows, and overall UX/UI effectiveness.
The result was a polished product interface that garnered praise from clients, industry analysts, and stakeholders alike. The modernization of Allego's outdated user interface and user experience transformed what was once considered a significant competitive gap in the product into a competitive advantage, distinguishing Allego from its competitors.
